Here’s some transparency for you -
I got an email from the EP Chamber of Commerce saying they decided to ‘endorse’ the opposing candidate, Ron Case. What does that endorsement even mean? As a Mayor I don’t think you should be endorsed by anyone. Isn’t that a conflict of interest? To have an endorsement by a Chamber of Commerce, which is a private entity - not a public one, is basically saying the corporations endorse you. Maybe the Mayor who is endorsed should wear the logo of all the corporations that support him/her? Just like NASCAR.
I chose not to take donations. I self-funded my whole campaign and I kept it under $750. It can be done. I only want the endorsement of THE PEOPLE.
Definition of endorsement
1: the act or process of endorsing
2a: something that is written in the process of endorsing
b: a provision added to an insurance contract altering its scope or application
3: SANCTION, APPROVAL //went ahead without the endorsement of his boss
4: money earned from a product recommendation. //made millions in salary and endorsements
What is a CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?
I am not against business. In fact, I have some great ideas on how to spur business in Eden Prairie. I have ideas on how to get our mall hopping with people. It’s a bit sleepy at the moment and the only we have going is the draw of Scheel’s.
I also know we need some new restaurants. We need restaurants that serve good wholesome food that’s prepared on site and doesn’t come in a bag to heat up. Places like Tavern 4&5 and People’s Organic. Fat Pants Brewery is another great innovative entertainment destination. One big disappointment is that the old Jake’s Restaurant is being turned into office space. That spot was a perfect location for a restaurant up on the hill. They had such a nice view from their patio. It’s kind of a shame it won’t be available as an entertainment space, but I’m sure it will be put to good use for a very small group of people.
Let it be known that I do not NEED to be mayor. I chose to run because no else did and something has to be done about the government overreach that’s happening. But, my opponent, Ron Case does need to be Mayor. His identity has been wrapped up in being an elected official for 25 years. From personal accounts of people who knew him when he lost the election to Nancy Tyra-Lukens, he had a bit of a fit.
I will choose to fight against government overreach whether or not I become mayor. I have been fighting for almost 2 years for election integrity and transparency. I have been fighting against unlawful mandates for the last 2 years through coordinated grassroots efforts and with my pen.
Being mayor will give me access to other areas of government they don’t want ‘regular' people to see. I know this because I worked for government. The People get in the way of them doing their jobs. When you work for government you forget your customer IS the people. I want to change that. The People are the reason they have jobs. It’s called public servitude for a reason. Our elected officials should not be serving the corporations - they should be serving The People.
I found it extremely interesting when I was at the August City Council meeting where residents from the Roberts Drive area came out to oppose the Topview (Menards owned) site where Ryan Companies was presenting their plan for an apartment complex.
Last I knew that piece of land was a wetland or otherwise known as a swamp. And the Mayor walked that site with Ryan Co (per his own admission in that meeting) and thought it was a good idea to put a 5 story building with an underground garage on that site. The Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed somehow approved this. So interesting. Greenlighting happening all over the place.
If I win, will he claim election fraud? That would be ironic wouldn’t it! I guess we will have to wait and see.
Until then, if you are looking for a change that will bring new and creative ideas to our beautiful city that is also backed by truth and tranparency, please vote for me. I will be fighting either way, but having that ‘title’ sure helps. Remember, remember the 8th of November! Vote ON Election Day.
Endorsements? Who needs endorsements...
Way to go on self funding and doing thus with integrity.
All the best this week, Tracey!
